CONFIGURATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR WINDOWS 98/ME

Please review the Terms of Service agreement (Eriecoast Policies) before proceeding with these setup instructions. A copy of this agreement will be provided upon request. You may terminate this agreement at any time by providing ERIECOAST with a written notice by United States mail. Notice of your termination will be effective upon receipt by ERIECOAST.
When calling technical support, please have your account login name, password, and Windows 98 setup CD or disks handy.		    
       
 

Configuring The Windows Dialer

  1. Click "START".
  2. Select "SETTINGS".
  3. Select "CONTROL PANEL".
  4. Double Click "INTERNET or INTERNET OPTIONS".
  5. On The Internet Properties page add http://www.eriecoast.com to the start/home page field. Click "APPLY".
  6. Select the "CONNECTIONS" tab.
  7. Click the "SET UP" button.
  8. Select "I want to set up my internet connection manually, or I want to connect through a local area network".
  9. Click "NEXT".
  10. Select "I connect through a phone line and a modem"
  11. Select "NEXT".
  12. Enter the area code and the phone number. (See Availability for correct number)
  13. Select "NEXT".
  14. Enter your "username and password".
  15. Click "NEXT".
  16. Type "ERIECOAST" in the connection name field.
  17. Click "NEXT".
  18. Select "YES" for e-mail set up.
  19. Click "NEXT".
  20. Enter your "Display name".
  21. Click "NEXT".
  22. Enter your "e-mail address".
  23. Click "NEXT".
  24. Select my incoming mail server is a "POP3" server.
  25. Under My incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server, Type "mail.eriecoast.com".
  26. Under Outgoing mail (SMPT) server, type "mail.eriecoast.com".
  27. Click "NEXT".
  28. Next to POP account name, Type your user ID.
  29. Next to password, Type your password.
  30. Click "NEXT"
  31. Click "FINISH"
